The Set Up

Work Inspired isn’t exactly Dickies core product, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t go big with it. Years past we’ve had similar low-key requests that eventually blew up into larger moments. This one was no different. That said, we put in a big effort for video and our photography. The requests from our channel teams got extended as it was realized how good the collection was.

The theme was Americana Road Trip. The Our external production team was so keyed in on our previous work that they could manage the shoot without much direction from our internal team. The narrative was two people our on a trip in a classic classic dodge dart, through the American Southwest. We didn’t have a huge budget to drop, so they stuck to the local Salt Lake and surrounding area that had a similar vibe to the narrative. We supplied them with a shot list and video deliverables and they were able to get out and play. What we got in return was the perfect balance of lifestyle & key product detail shots what blended nicely across our email, social and e-commerce.

During this time, we were in an ambiguous spot internally. Our creative team was our project manager Dagny Morrow, our copy writer Alex Chavez and our brand team—who gave the final approval on the work. I assisted with the deliverable requests for video, campaign design, post production direction on video, photo selection and motion graphics. It was a load, but was gratifying in the end.
